Step I:
Trim Down The Tailgate |
|
The original tailgate was 6’6” wide x 4’ long. We cut the 4’ down to 2’. This reduced the wind resistance and also the weight. The ATV has enough clearance to clear without high centering.

Step
II:
Stall for ATV & 2 Spare Crates |
|
We added an angle across the trailer to give just something to bind the ATV against. Also another angle down the length to create a stall/divider to separate the ATV and 2 spare crates.

Step III:
Remove Side Rails & Install Cargo Rack |
|
We then cut out section of the side rails where the boxes where going to be mounted. The cargo rack seems a little out of hand but it is that high so the storage lids can be opened on the aluminum crates. We capped off the pipe ends and came up with a safety device for the aluminum crates. It is a ½” rod the slides inside of the pipe rail to prevent accidental opening of the crate doors.

Install the Watertank |
|
The 7.5 gallon water tank is made of a 6” dia. x 6' long PVC pipe and two caps. It has a ½” faucet valve on each end. It is filled through either faucet. The tank is held in place with a piece of angle and hose clamps.
